US Ambassador Daniel Kritenbrink visits first Vietnamese University

PSNews - At the Temple of Literature, Ambassador Daniel Kritenbrink was briefed on the history of the special national historical and cultural relic, the first university of Vietnam, as well as the educational models of Vietnam through different dynasties.

On the occasion of the Vietnamese Teachers’ Day (November 20), US Ambassador to Vietnam Daniel Kritenbrink visited the Temple of Literature, regarded Vietnam’s first university, in Hanoi on November 17. 

Historian Pham Quang Minh joined the US senior diplomat.
At the Temple of Literature, Ambassador Daniel Kritenbrink was briefed on the history of the special national historical and cultural relic, the first university of Vietnam, as well as the educational models of Vietnam through different dynasties.
Speaking during the visit to the Temple of Literature, Ambassador Daniel Kritenbrink shared that he felt very happy to visit the relic and learn about the development of Vietnam’s education.

He also expressed his respect to teacher Chu Van An, one of the four Vietnamese celebrities honored by UNESCO.

As a professional diplomat, Ambassador Daniel Kritenbrink has lived and worked in several Asian countries such as Japan and China. Since 2017, when he was appointed as the US Ambassador to Vietnam, he has had a deep insight into the Vietnamese culture, language and customs.
Last month, in an exclusive interview granted to the Public Security Newspaper (PSNews), Ambassador Daniel Kritenbrink said that Vietnam is a country of hospitable, hard-working people. Vietnam is also one of the U.S's most important partners worldwide. He wished he could stay in Vietnam forever.
