Vietnam Artistic Photo Exhibition launched

The 2018 Vietnam Artistic Photo Exhibition was launched on May 2 at a ceremony in Ha Long city, Quang Ninh province, calling for entries from photography lovers across the country.

At the launch ceremony, the Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Vuong Duy Bien, who is the head of the exhibition's steering committee, expressed his hope that the event will be met with an enthusiastic response from photographers throughout the country.

The biennial event is co-hosted by the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists and the Fine Arts, Photography and Exhibition Department under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to review and honour creativity and photographic achievements in Vietnam over the past two years.

Entries to the contest should be based on today’s life, the Vietnamese land and people, national construction and defence, or honouring the worthy.

This year’s exhibition is among the activities being held under the framework of the 2018 National Tourism Year – Ha Long – Quang Ninh. Entrants are encouraged to focus their works on exploring the natural beauty of Vietnam in general and Quang Ninh province in particular.

Submissions can be single images or photo collections grouping five to eight pictures. The photos should have been taken over the past two years and not previously have been entered in a competition or exhibited at any competition or exhibition before.

The exhibition is scheduled to open in October, 2018 in Ha Long city.

Two gold, four silver, and six bronze medals and 10 consolation prizes will be awarded to the most outstanding entries. The gold medalists of the event will be nominated to receive Ho Chi Minh Awards and the State Awards for Literature and the Arts.
