The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism held the Vietnam Ethnic Groups’ Cultural Day 2017 with the theme “Flowers of Vietnam” on April 19, at the Cultural Village of Vietnamese Ethnic Minority Groups, Dong Mo, Hanoi.

The event saw the participation of Head of the Commission of Education and Communications Vo Van Thuong; Minister of the Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Ngoc Thien.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Minister Nguyen Ngoc Thien emphasized that, in recent years, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in collaboration with the Commission of Education and Communication and relevant units drafted and submitted the Prime Minister important policies on cultural and ethnic work.,
However, according to Mr. Thien, the preservation of ethnic minority groups’ cultural heritages and identities faces many challenges. Therefore, local units should actively organize specific information and education activities with the aim of promoting the values of ethnic minorities’ traditional cultures.
This event includes diverse cultural activities from April 19-23 such as ethnic music performances and martial art tourneys.
