Vietnam - Korea cultural exchange program to light up Hoi An
The Hoi An City Cultural Center on June 7th announced that, on the occasion of the "Exchange between Quang Nam Province and its partner cities" within the framework of the 6th Quang Nam Heritage Festival 2017, the Hahoe mask band from Andong city and the Nangye ethnic art group from Chungcheongbukdo province, South Korea will hold a unique art program on June 11-12 in Hoi An City.
Hahoe, an ancient village in Andong city, has been recognized by UNESCO as World Cultural Heritage. Hahoe is famous for its 800-year mask dance, and its mask has been recognized as the national treasure of South Korea.
The Nangye ethnic art group was founded in 1991 in Yeongdong town, Chungcheongbukdo province, in order to inherit and promote traditional Korean music and to commemorate the career of Park Yeon known as Nangye, who was honored as one of Korea's three greatest musicians. The Nangye group has performed in many countries around the world, including Japan, the USA, China, Australia, and so on.
