Vietnam Museum of Ethnology to entertain children with folk games

PSNews - Joining this event, children will discover the differences and similarities between Vietnamese folk games and other countries’. 

On the occasion of the International Children’s Day (June 1st), people, particularly Hanoi’s children, will have opportunity to participate in many traditional folk games from different countries, at the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology, on May 26-27.

The Organizing Board of this event announced that the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology will organize a variety of international folk games such as hopscotch (India, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, and Vietnam), mandarin square capturing (Indonesia, Thailand, and Vietnam), and flag capturing (Cambodia, Thailand, and Vietnam).

In particular, the program will be led by foreign students who are studying in Vietnam. Joining this event, children will discover the differences and similarities between Vietnamese folk games and other countries’.

Through discovering and experiencing various folk games, children can also broaden their knowledge of the Vietnamese culture as well as regional countries’ ones, and become more aware of preserving and promoting the nation’s cultural identity, values and heritages.
