Vietnam Stage Artists Association mark its 60th anniversary

The Vietnam Stage Artists Association held a ceremony on October 1 at Hanoi Opera House to mark its 60th anniversary of establishment (1957-2017).

The event witnessed the presence of Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam.

On behalf of the Government, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam praised the great contribution of all the stage artists over the past few years. He stressed that, through 60 years of development, the Vietnam Stage Artists Association has been continuously striving to overcome many difficulties and obstacles, to become the "roof" of many artist generations. 

These stage artists with all of their love and responsbilities have been contributing to preserving and promoting the precious heritage of previous generations, serving the cause of national liberation, unification, construction and defense.

The Vietnam Stage Artists Association now has 2,500 members across the country. The association has been honored by the Party and the State with many noble awards, including the 1st class Gold Star Order. 

Many members have been awarded with the Ho Chi Minh Award, the State Awards for Literature and the Arts, as well as ‘Meritorious Artist' and ‘People’s Artist’ titles.

Within the framework of the event, the Vietnam Stage Artists Association also honoured a number of outstanding artists, actors, authors, directors and stage researchers for their contributions.
