Vietnam will bring traditional dishes such as Pho (Vietnamese noodle soup) and nem ran (spring rolls) to serve to visitors at the festival.

In addition, other ASEAN members including Laos, Cambodia, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Brunei, Singapore, Myanmar and the Philippines will all introduce traditional cuisines from their home country at the event.

The ASEAN Culinary Festival has been hosted annually by the ASEAN-Korea Centre since 2016, with the aim of helping ASEAN people gain an insight into the cuisine cultures and gastronomy of other ASEAN nations, which has been a recent focus of the RoK Government’s New Southern Policy.

The organizing board expressed their hope that the event will further promote cultural exchanges between the RoK and the ASEAN region, in turn contributing to turning ASEAN nations into leading tourism destinations for Korean people, who love to explore a diverse range of food from different nations.

According to statistics from the ASEAN-Korea Centre, nearly 7 million Korean visitors arrive in ASEAN nations each year to visit beautiful landscapes and sample delicious food.

The central city of Da Nang in Vietnam has emerged as a popular holiday destination for many Korean people.

The festival will run until December 1.
