Vietnamese representative, Duong Thuy Linh, has surpassed 24 contestants to be crowned Mrs Worldwide 2018 at the final round in Singapore on June 24.
Thuy Linh also came away with wins in two sub-competitions, the People’s Choice and Special Queen Awards. This is the first time a Vietnamese representative has won the beauty pageant. The first runner-up place went to the South African representative while the Russian representative took the second runner-up place at the event.
In the final round, Thuy Linh and her 24 fellow contestants vied for the crown in evening gown and national costume competitions. Linh selected a Vietnamese traditional long dress (Aodai) designed by Kenny Thai for the national costume category and wore a fish tail dress by Audrey Nguyen for the evening gown category.
In the oral communication category, Linh surpassed the top ten finalists to be crowned the winner of Miss Worldwide thanks to her confidence and fluency in English.
Thuy Linh previously won the Miss Friendly title at Miss Universe Vietnam 2008, and the bronze medal in the Vietnam Supermodel Contest 2004. She was also chosen as the Vietnamese representative for Miss Tourism International 2004.
She is now hosts four TV programs and runs a restaurant in Hanoi. She is married to a businessman and they have a 7 year-old son.VOV
