What’s happening in the Lunar New Year Eve?

PSNews - As estimated, the revenue from festivals in 2017 in My Duc district will reach VND 100 billion. The proceeds will be used to reinvest in local infrastructure and hold the Huong Pagoda festival.

According to Mr. To Van Dong, Director of the Hanoi Municipal Department of Culture, Sports, at 8.pm on the Lunar New Year’s eve, many art and sport performances will be held at the Ly Thai To flower garden, center of Ha Dong district, Son Tay town, My Dinh stadium.

At the same time, there will be 60 artistic programs at other 30 districts, communes and populous areas.

Due to the Directive issued by the Secretariat of the Party Central Committee, this year, all provinces and cities will not organize firework displays in order to save money for needy people. However, other cultural activities will be promoted and all churches, temples, as well as pagodas in Hanoi will ring their bells to welcome the Lunar New Year. 

Hanoi will also establish inspector groups and festival management boards from February to April to check the organization of festivals and to ensure social order and safety for people in this festive season.

Regarding the preparation for the Huong Pagoda (Perfume Pagoda) festival 2017, Head of the Organizing Board Nguyen Van Hau released that about 5,000 workers for the festival will be trained on traffic law and food safety. As reported, all public toilets for tourists will be free of charge, and all canoes and boats for passenger transportation are equipped with lifebuoys and lifejackets, distributed by the Organizing Board.

Tickets for the Huong Pagoda festival will rise 57% compared to the last year. As estimated, the revenue from festivals in 2017 in My Duc district will reach VND 100 billion, which will be invested in local infrastructure and the next Huong Pagoda festival.
