The Da Nang International Food Fesival attracted the participation of 13 renowned chefs from Germany, Mexico, India, China, Sweden, the United States, Turkey, Greece, Singapore, and Malaysia.
During the festival, the chefs will put on display their cooking skills and introduce those in attendance to their countries’ traditional dishes. In particular, 13 chefs will use ingredients and spices native to the central region of Vietnam to cook their dishes.
The highlight of the five-day festival takes place each night when the president of the World Chef Association selects a chef to cook a specific dish from each country within a special area.
Thomas Andreas Gugler, president of the World Chef Association, noted that the event presents a wonderful chance for chefs to discover Da Nang and sample some of the delicious food of Vietnam.
Da Nang – ranked 15 in the top 52 not-to-miss destination in 2019 by the New York Times, is considered as the ‘Miami of Vietnam’ with the unique culture of events and festivals.
Vice Chairman of the Da Nang Municipal People's Committee Le Trung Chinh said: "Through this festival, Da Nang would like to promote its potentials of tourism, as one of leading attraction in Asia. Da Nang, a city of love, connection and friendliness".
The festival is set to run last until June 6.
