World’s artists perform at HCM City Autumn Melody concert

The Ho Chi Minh Municipal Department of Culture and Sports in collaboration with the city's Ballet Symphony Orchestra and Opera (HBSO) on August 17 kicked off the 2019 biennial music event of Autumn Melody.

The concert will last until August 25 at Ho Chi Minh city's Ballet Symphony Orchestra and Opera.

During the concert, music lovers were able to enjoy musicals, symphonies and ballets staged by world’s famous artists, including classical pianist Dang Thai Son, opera director David Hermann, choreographer Joost Vrouenraets.

Notably, a rehearsal of Son’s concert will be free of charge for students. Son is Vietnam’s world-renowned concert pianist who was the first Asian to win first prize and the gold medal at the X Warsaw International Chopin Piano Competition in 1980.

The concert will also see the participation of the Chamber Players International classical ensemble of the US, and the Eine Flute Ensemble of the Republic of Korea, along with many rising Vietnamese talents.

The Arts Festival Autumn Melodies was first organized in August 2005, aiming to promote young Vietnamese talents who study abroad and make outstanding achievements in arts.
