“Yellow Flowers on the Green Grass” to be screened at the ASEAN film festival

PSNews - “Yellow Flowers on the Green Grass” is based on the novel of the same name by writer Nguyen Nhat Anh. This film became a cinematic phenomenon at the Vietnamese box offices in 2015.  

On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of ASEAN (8-8-1967 / 8-8-2017), the ASEAN film festival will take place on March 27 – April 7 at the United Nations Office in Geneva.

Accordingly, the festival will screen 10 films of the 10 ASEAN members with an aim of describing an overview of ASEAN's cinema, such as Best of Times (Thailand), Only Love (Laos), Adam Eve Datsa (Myanmar), My Magic (Singapore), Redha (Malaysia) and Yellow Flowers on the Green Grass (Vietnam).

“Yellow Flowers on the Green Grass” is based on the novel of the same name by writer Nguyen Nhat Anh. This film became a cinematic phenomenon at the Vietnamese box offices in 2015. 

Set in the mid 1980’s in a poor rural village of central Vietnam, the film is a nostalgic story of two young brothers Thieu and Tuong. They love and share everything but also compete with each other to get the attention of a young neighbor girl.

“Yellow Flowers on the Green Grass” is considered a ticket to our sweet and memorable childhood.
