"Yellow Flowers on the Green Grass" to vie for Oscar's Best Foreign Film

Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism affirmed that the Ministry signed a decision on September 15th to officially send "Yellow Flowers on the Green Grass" to the 89th Academy Awards.
According to Mr. Bien, "Yellow Flowers on the Green Grass" and " Yen's life" were nominated. However, after voting, "Yellow Flowers on the Green Grass" (YFGG) of Victor Vu got a higher result.

YFGG represents the first state-commissioned film, produced by Viet Nam’s Galaxy Media and Entertainment and the Culture, Sports and Tourism Ministry’s Cinematography Department. YFGG is based on the novel of the same name by Nguyen Nhat Anh. YFGG became a phenomenon of Vietnam box office in 2015.
YFGG has won many domestic anh international awards including: the best film award at the Silk Road International Film Festival in China, the Golden Lotus award, the best director, the Audience Choice Award, etc.
