Young Photography Festival 2017 opens

PSNews - The Department of Fine Arts, Photography and Exhibitions under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism opened the Young Photography Festival 2017 with the theme “Young Thinking, Young Perspectives” for photographers in the ages of 18 -35, on October 10.

The Young Photography Festival 2017 aims to showcase photos taken by young photographers authentically featuring the country’s beauty, people, cultural, social and economic aspects.

This event provides serves as a chance for young photography-lovers to learn and exchange experiences and introduce their photographic pieces. The photo exhibition will contribute to promoting tourism by showing the beauty of the country and people of Vietnam in contemporary times to international friends and visitors to Vietnam.

The Young Photography Festival is organized in every two years. After 3 months being launched, this year’s festival has received 3,247 entries from 658 photographers nationwide.

The Art Council of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has selected 180 outstanding photos to display at the exhibition. The 26 best works have also been awarded, including 1 first, 2 second, 4 third, and 19 consolation prizes. In particular, the first prize went to the work “Mam song” (Living Sprout) by Tran Vu Quang Duy (Ho Chi Minh City).

The second prizes went to “Speaking Shadow” by Nguyen Quoc Ai (Ho Chi Minh City); “Sac Mau Tam Thanh”(Colors of Tam Thanh) by Le Trong Khang (Quang Nam). The exhibition is organized at the Exhibition Center of Fine Arts and Photography (29 Hang Bai, Hoan Kiem, Hanoi) and will run through October 16.
