According to official reports from the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, after nearly 7 months of implementing the Government's Resolution 42 and the Prime Minister's Decision 15, more than 12 trillion Dongs has been spent to support 12 million COVID-19 affected people.

Most of the beneficiaries are poor and near-poor households and national contributors. Additionally, small businesses and free-lance laborers affected by the pandemic also got aid. The sum plus the payments for death benefits and pensions totaled 27 trillion Dongs.
The implementation of the social support package encountered difficulties and problems as a number of provinces lacked their budgets so they had to depend only on the Government’s financial allocation to provide financial aid for pandemic-affected individuals and organizations in accordance with the government’s policy.
Recently, the Government has regulated the policy, according to which teachers at all kinds of schools from kindergarten to high education also get benefits from the government’s social assistance package. The policy has also loosened the regulations on loans from social policy banks for enterprises to borrow money to pay salaries for their off-work employees.By DT
