Nine of the new patients were detected in Bac Giang, a gateway to Hanoi capital, and there were all closely linked to the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak at SJ Tech company.
Notably, a local resident of Ha Nam province tested positive on May 11 after flying the flagged flight VN160 from Da Nang to Hanoi on May 29.
A number of Vietnamese people together with Chinese and Indian experts boarding the same flight have been infected with the virus.
Elsewhere, five cases were recorded in Bac Ninh, another coronavirus hotspot, two at the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases in Hanoi, and one each in Hung Yen and Thai Binh.
The MoH also reported in its 12.00hrs update that three Vietnamese nationals have tested positive after returning from overseas.
They were diagnosed with the virus during their stay at concentrated quarantine facilities, thus posing no risk to the community.
The fresh COVID-19 outbreak has spread to 26 cities and provinces, with 599 cases confirmed, since the virus recurred on April 28.
