A contest named “Programming with Kodu - Smart Cities” was hosted by Microsoft Vietnam, the Information and Education Center under the Ho Chi Minh City Municipal Department of Education and Training, and Information and Communications Technology Center (Vietnet-ICT).
The organizing board has received more than 21,000 impressive programmed products of junior programmers from secondary schools in Ho Chi Minh City after the contest was launched more than a month ago.
Themed “Smart City Programming,” the contest, which was based on the platform of Microsoft's Kodu, required school students of practical skills and creativity.
Earlier, more than 140 computer teachers had also been trained so that they could guide the students in programming 3D products with Kodu, Microsoft's free animation design tool, which allows third grade students or older to easily program products within minutes just by dragging and dropping images and icons instead of using complex and tedious programming languages.
