The International Division of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee has 28 youth representatives of Vietnam selected from three competition rounds with various challenges to participate in the SSEAYP 2018.
The participating Vietnamese youths, selected from a variety of professions and ages, will join a 52-day trip on the Nippon Maru cruise from Japan to South East Asia countries. This year, the ship will dock in Japan, Brunei, Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam.
300 SSEAYP delegates will live together on board, as well as will have opportunity to experience various cultural and social identities and participate in social programs in the target countries.
SSEAYP, an initiative of the Japanese Government, was started from 1974. Over the past 45 years, the program has become a good traditional program with the aim of promoting friendship and mutual understanding among the youths of Japan and participating South East Asia countries.
SSEAYP is also the venue for Vietnamese youths to show their responsibility to the regional community. Every year, after returning from the trip, the delegates are engaged to more social activities in the country to contribute more to the community in the spirit of "giving to receiving."
