29/80 portals of governmental agencies are at risk

PSNews – According to a recent survey conducted by the Ministry of Public Security (MPS), 29 out of 80 portals of governmental agencies with serious security vulnerabilities are at risk of cyber attacks. They include portals of the Ministries of Finance, Justice, and Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs.

Additionally, the MPS also detected 1,022 unauthorized accesses to portals ended at “.vn”. Among them, 6 websites were attacked and controlled by hackers.

The MPS has warned various ministries and agencies of risks of cyber attacks due to their security weaknesses, and urged competent agencies to take measures to block over 2,600 sites containing information hostile and reactionary to Vietnam.

According to statistics by the Vietnam Computer Emergency Response Team, the first 2 months of 2018 saw 1,504 cyber attacks on Vietnam-based websites in 3 ways: changing website’s interface, spreading malware, and phishing.
