33 medal winners honored

PSNews – The Ministry of Education and Training on October 19 organized a ceremony to honor high school students, who had won prizes and medals at regional and international Olympiads and science and technology competitions in 2018.

The event saw the presence of Ms. Truong Thi Mai, Politburo member, member of the Secretariat of the Party Central Committee (PCC) and Head of the PCC’s Commission for Mass Mobilization; former Vice State President Nguyen Thi Doan, President of the Vietnam Association of Educational Promotion; Minister of Education and Training Phung Xuan Nha; and representatives from ministries, Central agencies and Hanoi authorities.

Minister of Education and Training Phung Xuan Nha thanked and appreciated the efforts of teachers and parents who had taught and taken good care of the students, helping them to achieve various merits and bring honors at the international competitions, for themselves, for their families and for the country.

On behalf of Party and State leaders, Ms. Mai applauded the learning effort of the students, and congratulated them on their achievements.

Ms. Mai presented the third-class Labour Order from the President to Nguyen Phuong Thao who had achieved the highest score at the International Biology Olympiad in 2018, and Pham Duc Anh, who had won gold medals at the International Chemistry Olympiad in the two consecutive years of 2017 and 2018. 8 other students were presented with the Certificates of Merit from the Prime Minister. The Ministry of Education and Training presented Certificates of Merit to 21 students and 15 teachers.

On this occasion, the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union also presented Certificates of Merit to the 33 students with high performances at the regional and international Olympiads and science and technology competitions.
