470,000 people receive free health checkups in first 6 months of 2017

The society also revealed that the Vietnam Red Cross Society's Central Committee, the Ministry of Health, the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army and the Central Committee of the Vietnam Young Doctors’ Association organized medical examinations and treatments, provided free medicines and presented gifts, totally valued at nearly 120 billion VND in the first 6 months of 2017.

Accordingly, the program examined and allocated free medicines to nearly 470,000 people and organized more than 4,300 health consultations for 460,000 people. The program also held first aid training courses for more than 20,500 people.
In July, besides free medical check-ups, agencies and organizations also carried out other meaningful activities, such as offering gifts and cattle and handing over gratitude homes, and participated in natural disaster relief and search and rescue missions.
The program was organized in 10 cities and provinces, namely Hanoi, Phu Tho, Hai Duong, Son La, Nghe An, Gia Lai, Phu Yen, Dong Nai, Tien Giang and Soc Trang.
Through the program, the Vietnam Red Cross Society’s Central Committee provided free health examinations and medicines for nearly 10,000 people, costing more than 1.5 billion VND, and presented more than 4,000 gift packages worth 86 million VND.
Meanwhile, in the first 6 months of 2017, the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army provided free health check-ups for 55,000 people, handed over 10,000 gifts and built 56 houses for policy beneficiary families, totally worth 11,6 billion VND.
