The multi-media bookmobile project has been carried out since late 2015. In October 2016, VinGroup presented five mobile libraries to Son La, Nghe An, Quang Nam, Gia Lai and An Giang provinces.

After a year of operation, the 5 multi-media bookmobiles totally made 268 trips and served over 985,000 readers with 1.8 million copies of books, magazines and newspapers read; 30,000 computer and internet users; and nearly 50,000 movie viewers.

The program has benefited people from all walks of life. Among the program beneficiaries, students of primary, junior high and boarding schools accounted for more than 70%; people in rural and mountainous areas made up 25%; and the remaining percentage included students of universities and colleges, military people, prisoners and blind people.

On the basis of the fine results achieved and effective community service of the program, the Library Department and Thien Tam Fund have decided to expand the project.

By this time of 2018, Vingroup has donated 8 bookmobiles to the project. Each one has more than 4,000 books, 6 computers, a server, software items, projector and radio. In addition, the Library Department also mobilized donors to equip the bookmobiles with library management software, electronic documents and voice books for the visually impaired.
