All trials suspended until the end of March
In the face of the COVID-19 outbreak, Chief Justice Nguyen Hoa Binh has issued Directive 02/2020 / CT-CA on prevention and control of COVID-19 in the People's Court system.
Under this Directive, from now until the end of March, courts of all levels will not receive petitions, evidence and documents as well as citizens at their offices.
All courts shall instruct organizations and individuals to send petitions or other kinds of documents by post or via web postal of courts .
Courts will also send documents to organizations and individuals by post or electronic means instead of direct deliveries.
This Directive also states that during the time of the suspension of all trials, judges should keep studying files in preparation for trials to take place as soon as the COVID-19 epidemic is controlled.
In addition, the Directive also requests a temporary suspension of all foreign missions and study tours, except for special cases agreed by the Chief Justice.
