Binh Thuan reburies remains of 9 martyrs

A ceremony was held on the morning of September 13 at the martyrs’ cemetery in Hong Son commune of Ham Thuan Bac district in Binh Thuan province to rebury the remains of 9 soldiers who died in the region during the past resistance wars.

Many fierce battles took place in Binh Thuan province during the resistance struggles against French colonialists and American imperialists. A number of officials and soldiers from Binh Thuan and other localities across the country bravely fought against enemies and laid down their lives in defending the region.
Colonel Pham Van Long from the Binh Thuan provincial Military Command said the remains of more than 9,000 soldiers have been collected and reburied at the provincial martyrs’ cemetery since Liberation Day, however, the remains of more than 1,000 martyrs are still yet to be found.
