Businesses failing to pay social insurance for employees to be sued

PSNews – The Hanoi Labour Federation has newly released a statement, saying that companies with social insurance debts will be sued, which aims to protect the legitimate rights and interests of workers, articulated in the policies and law of social insurance.

According to 27 labour unions under the Hanoi Municipal Labour Federation, Hanoi now has 31,428 enterprises, accounting for 25.1% of the total enterprise number of the country, with an unpaid social insurance amount of more than 2,220 billion VND.

Of the local enterprises, said the Federation, 15,534 ones have social insurance debts of 1,710 billion VND for more than 3 months.

According to Vice Chairman of the Hanoi Labour Federation Le Dinh Hung, the plan of taking legal action against these enterprises is a new and important task as the primary mission of the federation is to protect the benefits of workers.

In doing so, the city's Labour Federation has asked district labour unions to well coordinate with local People's Court and social insurance agencies and relevant agencies under the federation to start the lawsuit.
