Cameras installed to ensure security for Tran Temple Festival

PSNews – The Nam Dinh Municipal People’s Committee will install 16 cameras to control security and people’s behavior during the Tran Temple Festival 2020 to takes place during February 4-9.  

The seal opening ceremony, the main ritual of the festival, will take place on the 14th night of the first lunar month at the Tran Temple, Loc Vuong ward, Nam Dinh City.

This long-lasting ritual with its great humanity meaning, aims at promoting the history of national construction and defense. It also aims at attracting tourists, contributing to socio-economic development of Nam Dinh Province and Nam Dinh City.

This year’s festival also includes other rituals such as the Ngoc Lo palanquin parade, the water procession and fishing worshiping rituals. During the festival, there are other activities including lion and dragon dances, cheo (traditional opera) and chau van (spiritual) singing, human chess, wrestling and martial arts performances.

In order to ensure the success of the festival, maintain public order and security and prevent offensive and bad behaviors and food hygiene at the festival, the organizers take various preventive measures.

In particular, 16 security cameras will be installed around the festival site to control theft, pickpocket and bad behavior. Besides, the organizers also prepare 30,000 sealed papers for visitors.  

The Tran Temple Festival was recognized as national intangible heritage in 2014, while the historical complex of the Tran Kings’ shrines and tombs received special national relic status in 2015.
