Can Tho welcomes nearly 120,000 tourists during 4-day vacation
PSNews - Can Tho welcomed nearly 120,000 tourists, including 6,850 foreign ones, during the recent four-day vacation when the nation was celebrating the National Reunification Day (April 30) and May Day (May 1), a rise of 16.4% compared with the same period last year, according to the Can Tho Municipal Department of Culture, Sport and Tourism.

Tourist attractions in the city, such as Ninh Kieu walking bridge, Ninh Kieu wharf, shopping area and night food market, welcomed some 18,000 tourists.
According to the city’s Department of Culture, Sport and Tourism, the increase of tourists to the city this year was because the two major holidays fell on the weekend so people had two more following weekdays off. Many people from Ho Chi Minh City and Northern provinces took the chance to visit Can Tho.
Additionally, various cultural activities this year were improved in quality, which attracted more attention from both local and international visitors to the city.
In this circumstance, police forces had drawn up appropriate plans and successfully ensured security and order as well as traffic safety, and fire prevention in the city during the vacation.
