Cat Linh-Ha Dong elevated railway project ready for pilot operation

According to the management board, the Cat Linh-Ha Dong elevated railway project is now connected to power and ready for its pilot operation on the whole system.
From the beginning of July, several test runs of trains without passengers were conducted on sections of the railway system in preparation for pilot passenger transportation on the whole system this August, a month ahead of the plan, and for an official operation of the project.
The Cat Linh-Ha Dong railway project was invested by the Ministry of Transport with adjusted investment totaling 886 million USD (more than 20 trillion VND).
The railway project is 13 km long and has 12 stations. At the beginning, it was scheduled to be put into operation in 2016, but now the project will be operational in late 2018.
The project has received official development assistance (ODA) from China. The China Railway Sixth Group is the EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) contractor of the project.
