By July 7, Ha Tinh province had completed 85% of the payment plan. The province also supported citizens to get 7,500 health insurance cards and pay tuition fees for students in affected areas.
In addition, the Ha Tinh local authorities also spent more than VND 560 million on electricity bill for seafood frozen facilities and supported 100% of the interest rate on bank loans for organizations that have plans to buy salt from local salt farmers.
In Quang Binh province, 98% of the allocated compensation payment has been disbursed.
Meanwhile, the Quang Tri province’s authorities have basically completed the compensation. There only remains VND 66 billion intended to be paid for those indirectly affected by the environmental incident. These cases need to be further verified as some cases have proved not eligible for the compensation.
In Thua Thien – Hue province, 92% of the total compensation has been paid to the victims. More than VND 86 billion stays unpaid as the remaining victims are not currently present at their localities.
