Crew of flight VN0054 negative for coronavirus
The entire crew of Vietnam Airlines’ flight VN0054 from the UK to Vietnam on March 1 has tested negative for SARS-CoV-2, the local health authority released.
The crew includes 4 pilots and 12 flight attendants, who flew with several COVID-19 infected cases from the UK to Vietnam on March 3. As soon as the carrier knew that one passenger on that flight was infected with SARS-CoV-2, Vietnam Airlines on March 6 decided to quarantine nearly 60 people, who had contacted with the patient.
Up to now, 16 crew members of the flight are still quarantined but they have all tested negative for the virus. Additionally, all of the quarantined technical and ground staffers relating to the flight are in a good health condition.
Since the COVID-19 broke out, Vietnam Airlines’ pilots, flight attendants as well as ground officers have worn masks, medical gloves and disinfectants while working. They have been equipped with knowledge of disease prevention and prevention. These preventive measures have contributed to protecting themselves as well as passengers from Covid-19 infection.
In fact, the carrier has strictly followed guidance from the authorities, the World Health Organization and relevant agencies, aviation and tourism industries on Covid-19 prevention since the outbreak.
Particularly, from March 8, 2020, Vietnam Airlines has started sterilizing all of its flights from foreign countries to Vietnam. It has also reported the health authority on passengers with symptoms of Covid-19.
