On September 12 morning, the investigation team continued searching the suspects' places for more evidence related to the case.

According to the police, Tran Van Muoi Hai (residing in Ho Chi Minh City) ran this large gambling ring for months. Hai opened a lot of betting accounts in the gambling network operated by a Chinese man. He then assigned his juniors to run the two gambling sub-networks. Every day, Hai entrusted his juniors to use these accounts to gamble online with other gamblers, and get and pay the bets. The ring lured hundreds people to illegal gambling activities.

The Criminal Investigation Department initially considered that this is a large and dangerous gambling gang running various betting networks. The ring has connections with many Chinese with a majority from the Chinese mainland. As the gang usually use software to cheat in their gambling activities, they created conflicts with many other gangs. However, the gang managed to win tens of billions of VNDs per week.

The police also informed that Hai has fled away. But the C45 Department urged the suspect to soon surrender himself to the police to receive the leniency of the law.
