Over 200 youth union members from the Da Nang Youth Federation and young people in the central coastal city of Da Nang gathered along the beaches on Nguyen Tat Thanh street, Thanh Khe district, on June 8 in response to the “Let’s clean up the sea” campaign.
The event is part of a series of activities in response to the 2019 ‘Let’s clean up the sea’ campaign which is running with the theme of ‘Kindness to the ocean’.
As part of the campaign, youth union members and young people in Da Nang city will take part in environmental protection activities between June 5 and August 31.
These activities will be implemented in association with a summer youth volunteer scheme and the Green Sunday campaign.
Beaches in the districts of Thanh Khe, Son Tra, Ngu Hanh Son, and Lien Chieu have been selected as locations that will host the environmental protection activities.
The activities aim to respond the 2019 Action Month for the Environment in order to raise public awareness and teach young and youth union members about the important role that the sea plays in people’s lives.
The events also hope to heighten the community’s responsibility to protect the maritime environment and promote the volunteer spirit among youth member unions and young people to preserve the environment and cope with climate change.
