EU Climate Diplomacy fair in Hanoi

PSNews – The organizers of the fair hoped to send a message and raise the public awareness on the urgent need addressing climate change.

The European Union Delegation to Vietnam and the German Embassy organized the EU Climate Diplomacy Fair at Ly Thai To square, Hoan Kiem lake, Hanoi. The event was attended by Chairman of Hanoi Municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung; Mr. Bruno Angelet, Ambassador – Head of the EU Delegation to Vietnam.

The Fair showcased the EU’s support to Vietnam in the fight against climate change while many local organizations also displayed their initiatives to promote sustainable energy – as the energy sector is one of the largest polluters and sources of Green House Gas emission.

The Fair also targets younger generations and families with the hope they adapt their individual behavior to contribute to a more sustainable development.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Nguyen Duc Chung stressed that: “Raising the public awareness is considered an important aspect in response to climate change.” He also expressed his hope that this event would be an opportunity for the authority, people and researchers, enterprises to discuss and further study issues related to climate and environment, contributing to a green, civilized and modern capital.
