About 705 voters who are medical staff and patients at the Central Hospital for Tropical Diseases 2 in Dong Anh district, Hanoi, which is undergoing medical isolation to prevent the COVID-19 epidemic, cast their ballots on May 23.
According to doctor Nguyen Trung Cap, Deputy Director of the Central Hospital for Tropical Diseases 2 at Kim Chung commune, Dong Anh district, 280 patients and 425 medical workers at the hospital exercised their right to vote on May 23 to elect deputies to the 15th National Assembly and all-level People’s Councils for 2021-2026.
As the Central Hospital for Tropical Diseases 2 is being isolated, the election was carried out carefully, following the COVID-19 preventive measures.
Ballot boxes were arranged in a reasonable way to ensure social distancing. The medical staff was to cast their ballots first, and they then put on protective clothing and brought the ballot box to wards for the patients to vote.
The ballot boxes were sealed and disinfected, before being transferred to the counting unit.
