The library founded by Nguyen Ba Nha and Mai Thi Huy has some 1000 books of various kinds. Some are of foreign and Vietnamese literature, while others are about famous people in the world, history, for children. They are all free.

Opened in April, the library has now become a gathering of local students. The number of “young readers” is expected to rise as they have started their. Some students come to the library to look for reference books for the upcoming national high school graduation examination.

The couple, Nha and Huy, has called on friends and other people to donate books for over 3 years. Nha still hopes to have a set of computer, which facilitates the search for books of readers and management of the library.

Nguyen Thien Tinh, Head of the Culture and Information Office of Son Hoa, said that only 30% of people living in mountainous areas of Son Hoa has a regular access to books, a big gap compared with other localities of Phu Yen. The “Nang mai” library has a great meaning, helping local people, particularly students, acquire more knowledge.
