First-ever antique auction to be held in Hanoi

PSNews -The first-ever auction of Vietnamese antiques, valuable art works and Ruby Star jewelries will be held by the No.5 National Auction JSC,  the Hanoi Bar Association office announced on July 10.

According to the No.5 National Auction JSC, the company has been licensed by the Hanoi Municipal People’s Committee to hold an antique auction for the first time.

Three unique antiques on the auction include a 2,000-year-old bronze vessel of the Dong Son culture; a ceramic jar with brown patterns dating back to the 13th century in the Tran Dynasty, and an enamel box of the royal family from the mid-19th century in the Nguyen Dynasty.

Director of the No.5 National Auction JSC, Quan Van Minh, affirmed that the antiques for auction have been professionally evaluated and registered by competent agencies, have their records of legal origin.

The auction will be opene to public and transparent, and the proceeds will be contributed to the State Budget.

In addition, five colossuses of national hero, General Tran Quoc Tuan, and a set of jewelries with two star ruby gemstones found in Yen Bai province will also be auctioned.

The first antique auction under the new auction law is expected to be held at 8 pm, August 19th at Hanoi Hotel.

The starting prices range from 100 million VND to 1.7 billion VND. Participants are required to deposit 15 to 200 million VND, depending on their expected items.
