(11/02 - 30 Tet) A team of young volunteers in Da Nang has offered free rides to poor patients, helping them go home to enjoy the Lunar New Year festival with their families after their medical treatment.
Thanh and other members of the voluntary team.

Ho Ngoc Thanh, 35, is the leader of this meaningful program, also runs a voluntary club in Son Tra district, Da Nang.

Thanh said many patients cannot afford to buy fares to the hospitals or back to their families after treatment. Seeing this situation, he called on other people to offer poor patients free rides.

Formed in October 2019 with only 32 members, Thanh and his voluntary team has offered free rides to over 100 poor patients from Hue, Da Nang, Quang Nam and Quang Ngai.

Over the past year, the team has deployed 10 personal vehicles to transport needy patients. Their good deeds inspired many other people who are willing to join them in offering free rides to poor patients.

Thanh said that he runs a business so his business has covered most of the expenses worth millions of Vietnamese dongs for the free rides over the past year.

Thanh hoped that his efforts in offering free rides to poor patients would spread love and good things to the community.
