HCM City detects 8kgs of meth in postal consignments

The Customs Department of Ho Chi Minh City has collaborated with the municipal police to detect three postal consignments containing nearly 8kgs of meth.

Two of the consignments were sent from false addresses from Portugal and the other, from Germany to a fake destination in Ho Chi Minh City through international postal services, which were claimed as personal gifts.
In this way, the traffickers can still receive the packages under the senders’ demands.The drugs were hidden in different stuffs contained in the carton packages such as stuffed toys, CD players and shoe bags.
Over the years, HCM City authorities have detected many drug trafficking cases with large amount. The traffickers take advantages of loopholes in customs clearance procedures to transport drug.
