Hai Phong closes 380 health checkpoints at residential areas
The Municipal People’s Committee of Hai Phong on April 16 announced changes in its COVID-19 disease control and prevention measures. Particularly, it has decided to close all checkpoints in the residential area of the city.
However, the disease task force of all districts, wards and commune in the city will continue implementing prevention and control measures and seriously handle violations of the COVID-19 prevention regulations.
People coming from provinces and cities which are not labeled high-risk localities with health certificates granted by competent health agencies are allowed to enter the city without being quarantined. Checkpoints on gateways to Hai Phong are authorized to flexibly give the permission but they also have to record every case and report them to the city’s authorities for further management and supervision.
Hai Phong dwellers are allowed to travel to all provinces and cities except for the 12 high-risk ones and they will not be quarantined when they return to the city when they have health certificates issued by the health authority at their departure.
The city also permitted taxi companies to operate half of their vehicles and a taxi can only carry less than half of the maximum number of passengers. Ferries transporting passengers between Hai Phong and Thai Binh, Hai Duong and QuangNinh, are allowed to operate from 6 o’clock to 8 in the morning and from 4 o’clock to 6 in the afternoon.
The city’s leaders also instructed their subordinate agencies and units to maintain up to 50% of their staff at the office. The administrative procedures, which cannot be performed via online methods, will be handled at offices as usual.
