Hai Phong earmarks one trillion VND for COVID-19 prevention

The Municipal People’s Committee of Hai Phong held an unexpected meeting to discuss measures to tackle the coronavirus outbreak.

The city agreed to spend over VND 126 billion on necessary medical equipment, chemicals and masks for the prevention and control of COVID-19 infection.
Each person in concentrated quarantine centers or in quarantine areas will respectively get 65,000 VND or 45,000 VND per day.
The Municipal People’s Committee also proposed to cancel the Hoa Phuong Do (Red Flamboyant Flower) Festival, the Cat Ba Fishery Festival and the Do Son Tourism Festival, along with a meeting on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the city’s liberation day.
