Hanoi encourages investment in solar power projects

PSNews – Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee Nguyen Doan Toan signed Dispatch No.4327/UBND-KT on the implementation of Decision No.11/2017/QD-TTg issued on April 11th 2017 by the Prime Minister to encourage the development of solar power projects in Vietnam.

The Dispatch states that the Hanoi People’s Committee has assigned the Department of Industry and Trade to work on the city’s potential for development of solar energy and advise the city’s leadership on a plan to develop solar power in Hanoi period by 2020 with a vision to 2030.

The Hanoi Department of Construction in collaboration with the Department of Industry and Trade and relevant agencies is in charge of studying locations and projects that can be set up solar cells or solar power systems.

The Department of Natural Resources and Environment is to provide relevant agencies with information about land planning and use, and handle procedures for land restoration, land lease and land use.

The Department of Natural Resources and Environment should update the land use plan with new solar energy development projects in line with the police and construction master plan issued by the competent authorities, and summit it to the Municipal People’s Committee for approval.

The Department is also to collaborate closely with district people’s committees in land compensation and clearance when deploying solar power projects in the city.
