Hanoi football fans stayed up all night as the country's rmale football team made history with its first entrance into the ASIAD quarter-finals after winning 1- 0 against Bahrain.

The Vietnam male football team on August 23 made history with its first entrance into the ASIAD quarter-finals after winning 1- 0 against Bahrain. They will face Syria on August 27.

Minutes after Vietnam’s men’s football team underlined the strides they have been making in recent years with their first ever entry into the quarterfinals of the Asian Games, thousands of delirious fans hit the streets in frenzied celebration, blaring, honking and hooting. 

The Vietnam Olympic team made history with its first entrance into the ASIAD quarter-finals after winning 1- 0 against Bahrain during the last stages of the 16-team knockout round for the men’s football of the Asian Games (ASIAD) 2018 in Indonesia on August 23. 
The goal, described as “more valuable than gold” by many fans and commentators, was scored by Nguyen Cong Phuong, wearing jersey number nine, at the 88th minute.
