Hanoi kicks off Ring Road No.3 expanding project

Hanoi People's Committee held a groundbreaking ceremony for the investment project to expand Ring Road No.3 Mai Dich - Thang Long bridge area in Xuan Dinh Ward, North Tu Liem District. 

Presenting at the ceremony were Mr. Trinh Dinh Dung, Deputy Prime Minister; Minister of Transport Truong Quang Nghia, Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Nguyen Duc Chung and other relevant departments.

The investment projects to expand Ring Road No.3 Mai Dich - Thang Long Bridge area is one of 52 key projects which was prioritized by the city in 2016-2020 period. This is also one of the urgent projects to reduce traffic congestion in Hanoi, which has been received permission from Prime Minister to apply a special mechanism in implementing investing construction according to Document 573 / TTg-KTN dated 5-4-2016.

The total investment of this project is 3113 billion VND. It will occupy an area of ​​about 39.2 hectares across Mai Dich Ward, Dich Vong Hau Ward, Cau Giay District; Co Nhue 1 Ward, Co Nhue 2 Ward, Xuan Dinh Ward and North Tu Liem district.

At the ceremony, before issued the command, Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Nguyen Duc Chung said: "Completing and putting soon into use the project will contribute significantly to reduce traffic congestion within the area. It will also be the prior condition for overhead line construction project from Mai Dich to Thang Long bridge, in order to complete the Ring Road No.3 investment project approved by Prime Minister. "
