Hanoi plans to add 2,200 more coaches to service during Tet holiday

PSNews - According to Mr. Nguyen Anh Toan, Director of the Hanoi Bus Station Joint Stock Company, the company has planned to run 2,200 additional coaches to serve various travel demands of people during the New Year and Lunar New Year holiday.

The number of passengers traveling on long routes from January 15 to 24, 2020 and 10 days after the Lunar New Year Festival is expected to increase sharply, Mr. Toan said.

Currently, the number of coaches and buses operating in all bus stations within Hanoi still meet the current travel demands of passengers.

However, some long routes such as those between Hanoi and Quang Ninh, Thanh Hoa, Thai Binh, Son La, Lao Cai are expected to be overbooked at times.

Before the Tet holiday, passengers tend to travel on short routes while more people will travel on long routes from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Gia Lai, Buon Me Thuot from local bus stations, particularly Giap Bat bus station.

Therefore, the company has planned to add 2,200 more coaches to service to meet a high travel demand during the Tet holiday. Besides, the company will increase bus trips on short and medium routes to meet the demand of passengers for inter-provincial travels.

During this Tet holiday, the Hanoi Bus Station Joint Stock Company also works closely with local police forces to draw up coordination plans to ensure security and order around stations and prevent the transportation of explosives, inflammables, banned goods, fake goods.
