Hanoi police tighten checks of means of transport into capital city

The police of Hanoi are requested in coordination with functional forces are asked to enhance checks of passenger vehicles entering the capital city as of July 14.

The 22 checkpoints have been set up and started operation from 6 am on July 14 to check all kinds of vehicles at gateways to the city around the clock. A team of traffic and mobile police officers and health workers is deployed at each checkpoint.

Special attention would be given to intercity coaches, buses, taxis, charter and tourist buses.

Officials at checkpoints conduct quick tests of passengers and drivers for COVID-19, disinfect vehicles, and isolate COVID suspected or confirmed cases.

All inter-provincial passenger vehicles and coaches from current COVID-19 hotspots, including HCM City, Binh Duong, Dong Nai and the like will not be allowed to enter the city.

In some special cases, charter vehicles carrying experts and workers from industrial zones in epidemic-hit provinces and cities can enter Hanoi after careful medical checks and under strict supervision of the local medical sector.

Citizens who have finished isolation in the provinces and wish to return to Hanoi must have relevant documentations.
