Hanoi’s armed forces work all night to save Bui River’s dykes

PSNews - Hundreds of military officers were mobilized to consolidate the Bui River’s dykes in Chuong My, Hanoi as the river’s water level is constantly rising.
Heavy rains over the past few days have raised the water level of the Bui River’s section in Chuong My, Hanoi to an un usual level, endangering the Bui River’s dykes.
Against this backdrop, hundreds of local people and military troops of Regiment 201 under the Tank-Armored Corps of the Ministry of Defense were mobilized to consolidate Bui River’s dykes on July 30.
The volunteers have been working all night to transport large sandbags and strengthen the Bui River’s dykes.
As Bui river’s water level is constantly rising, threatening life of local people in two communes of the Chuong My district, namely Tan Tien and Nam Phuong Tien communes.

After five days, eight villages in the two communes still remain deep in water after a section of the dyke of the Bui River broke, and the residents are facing numerous of difficulties, particularly lack of clean water and electricity.


The local authorities have mobilized armed forces to evacuate the residents of Tan Tien and Nam Phuong Tien communes from the dangerous flooded areas.
