PSNews – 19 working groups have been set up to patrol the old quarter of Hanoi, especially around the HoanKiem lake, to punish those who violate the COVID-19 regulations.

According to Colonel Bui Van Dang, Deputy Head of the HoanKiem District Police Station, local police advised the HoanKiem District’s Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control to set up 19 working groups to fine people for not wearing facemasks in public areas as well as for other violations of the COVID-19 regulations.

Accordingly, each of the 18 ward police posts has a mobile working team while the HoanKiem District Police Station has its own team. All the teams are led by traffic police officers.

The working groups regularly patrol around the HoanKiem lake and surrounding areas to use loudspeakers to remind local people of wearing facemasks while going out and updating people on the current COVID-19 epidemic situation.

Colonel Bui Van Dang also informed that, on April 30, the working groups fined 21 people who did not wear facemasks in streets. The fine totaled 42 million VND.
