The Quang Nam General Hospital on June 2 performed a special C-section inside its quarantine zone on a 39-week pregnant woman diagnosed with a baby girl.
The pregnant woman, whose name is Cao Thi Van, is among 343 Vietnamese returning from Taiwan (China) on a flight of Vietnam Airlines on May 29.
After the flight landed in Da Nang, all people on the flight were given medical check and put into quarantine in line with regulations.
On June 1, the pregnant woman appeared abdominal pain and was hospitalized. The hospital was informed that she had just returned home from a COVID-19 epidemic affected area and she was about to give birth.
The hospital prepared an isolation room with full equipment and a medical team to perform a C-section on the women.
On June 2, the woman successfully gave birth to a baby girl weighing 3 kg. At the moment, the health of both mother and the baby is in a stable condition.
