According to the Irrigation Sub-department under the provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, the high waves have caused landslides and subsidence in many sections of the 2,123 metre-long dyke in Dong Hai ward over the last few days.
Many damaged sections of the dyke have not been repaired due to lack of funds.
According to the People’s Committee of Dong Hai ward, the locality installed warning signs at landslide points as a temporary solution.
By the end of last year, many sections of the dyke were seriously damaged by typhoon Tembin.
