Ho Chi Minh City labor market remains stable after Tet

PSNews - The Ho Chi Minh City Center for Forecasting Manpower Needs and Labor Market Information reported on February 5th that as local businesses have well implemented effective salary and bonus policies, the manpower demand after Tet is as low as 3%. 

Center's representative said, in February 2017, the service sector needs 20,000 permanent and over 10,000 seasonal workers. The demand for unskilled workers accounts for 37% while the demand for skilled workers or graduates of vocational schools,  workers graduating from higher schools, and high-quality workers with university diplomas or postgraduate degrees is 20%, 18% and 27%, respectively.

The labor demand in marketing, sales, product showcases, tours, restaurants-hotels, advertisement, packing, electrics, mechanics, home maid service, bonsai care, delivery and security guardianship  is forecast to soar in February 2017.

A stable rise in employment after Tet results from sound directions and policies of the Ho Chi Minh Municipal Party Committee, People's Committee as well as production and business development of more than 1,775 businesses in the area. According to the center's survey, jobs with a salary of over 15 million VND represent 8.32% while employment with a salary of under 3 million VND accounts for 3.66% and employment with salaries from 5 to 8 billion VND make up 33.51%.
